Second St Helens forward joins Toulouse for 2021

St Helens have confirmed that forward Dominique Peyroux will join Toulouse in 2021.

The 31-year-old becomes the second Saints forward to make the move for next year, after it was confirmed last week that Joseph Paulo has signed for the French club.

Peyroux joined St Helens in 2016 and has since gone on to make 120 appearances and score 19 tries, establishing himself as one of the Super League’s top back rowers.

In that time he also won the 2019 Super League Grand Final and was part of the squad that came runners-up in the 2019 Challenge Cup Final.

“My family and I have loved our time in England and I will always cherish the Saints fans who have been great to me,” Peyroux said. “Thanks also to my teammates. I have made friends for life and I wish them and the club all the best for the future.

“I’ve always wanted to travel to France to play rugby and experience the culture and lifestyle. I think Toulouse have a solid base of players and staff and I will do everything in my power to help the them move towards Super League.”

“At the moment my main focus is doing my job for the team and finishing off the season as we did last year – hopefully with another Grand Final winners ring!

Saints head coach Kristian Woolf added: “Dom has been at the Club for five years and has been a really respected and popular member of the squad. He had a great year in 2019 where he was a consistent starter as our starting back rower as he helped the club to Grand Final success.

“We are well aware that this season he hasn’t quite had the opportunities he wanted and so we are really happy for him to have that at a great club and area in Toulouse.

“We thank Dom for his service at the Saints and we wish him, Grace and his family all the best for the future over in France in 2021.”
