Ryan Brierley is a brilliant Scotland international and has become one of the best fullbacks in Super League.
But there has now been talk, started by his coach, that he could finally get an England call up.
Here is what he had to say on the matter when asked if he was interested:
“Not particularly no, I think first and foremost I’ve got to play well for this coach more importantly so it’s nice to obviously be involved in that conversation, it’s quite flattering.
“The real success for me is that you actually mention it now. I think if you’d asked me five years ago, I think you were making fun of me. It’s not something I’ve directly spoke about or thought about. It’s nice to be in those conversations, but I think most importantly, I think I’ve got to play well for Salford Red Devils and everything else to take care of itself.
“I think it’s every young boy’s dream to play for England. If you’re born in this country, and I’m no different, ultimately I’ve got full respect for that England set-up, and I’ll pick the right squad for the job.”
