Samisoni Langi backs Wakefield Trinity for play-offs in 2023

In many ways, Wakefield Trinity are flying under the radar ahead of the 2023 Super League season.

Trinity have made four signings ahead of the new season including NRL forwards Renouf Atoni and Kevin Proctor as well as Featherstone Rovers halfback Morgan Smith.

Meanwhile, they have also signed Catalans Dragons centre Samisoni Langi.

Langi reflected on his first few months at the club when speaking to The Sportsman:

“It’s been good, just getting around the boys and the new team. Just getting to know everyone and learning all the new plays so it’s been good so far. Everyone’s been welcoming, especially to me and the new boys. It’s a new year, new signings and it’s a good young group and hopefully we can showcase what we’ve been learning in the off-season and build towards top six come the end of the season.”

The centre, who can also play in the pack and in the halves, has backed Wakefield to make the play-offs and upset a few rivals: “I think every club has the top six in their sights and it’s no different for us. Last year Wakefield were down towards the bottom end of the ladder but we’re hoping for a big year this year and hopefully we can shock a few clubs and impress our fans and everyone in Super League.

“I think a successful would be making the playoffs, top six for us.”
