Sam Tomkins takes swipe at Warrington

When Sam Tomkins played for Wigan, there was certainly no love lost when his Warriors side played Warrington.

And now, it appears, that sentiment has been carried over to his new club Catalans.

The Warrington club tweeted “On guard”, tagging their wolf mascot, with two crossed swords emojis next to it with “Next up: Rivals Round” underneath.

That was immediately jumped upon by Tomkins – who is enjoying one of the greatest spells of his career in the south of France – who retorted: “Are you playing the Catalan Knights?? We’re Dragons. That daft dog would have no chance.”

With Warrington taking on the Dragons tonight at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, there will be no love lost between third place and first respectively.

The 32-year-old has already outlined his desire to retire in Perpignan, with both Tomkins and his family thoroughly enjoying life at the Catalans.

He is set to make his 50th Dragons appearance in the clash.
