Sam Tomkins’ hilarious reaction to being written off in 2023

Super League is back tonight and it brings with it the same questions.

Fans, players, pundits, and others are all throwing out their predictions for the new season.

Sky Sports have taken to stir up this discussion on Twitter with a poll to see who fans will finish highest out of last year’s top four: St Helens, Wigan Warriors, Huddersfield Giants and Catalans Dragons.

Naturally, the Super League Champions are expected to finish top again after Lewis Dodd and Alex Walmsley return from injury in 2023.

68.1% of fans are tipping them to finish above the other three whilst Wigan Warriors are the next most fancied with 22.4% of the vote which will largely be down to stars Jai Field and Bevan French.

Huddersfield Giants, despite the arrival of Jake Connor, are not expected to finish above the Saints-Wigan duopoly.

But Catalans Dragons are the least fancied with just 2.6% of fans believing they will be above to finish above the other three.

The bookmakers echo this with St Helens and Wigan the two favourites for the League Leaders’ Shield with Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves in third and fourth.

Following this vote, one of the biggest stars of Super League, England skipper and two-time Man of Steel gave his funny reaction to the poll and being written off.

He said “3%, that’s harsh.”

Tomkins will no have added motivation to fire the Dragons back to the top in 2023.

However, he will miss the start of the season through injury as will Mike McMeeken and Fouad Yaha.
