Sam Tomkins compares bull to Super League player as he opens up on the incident

Recently, a bull’s charge onto a Super League pitch created headlines across the planet as Catalans Dragons and St Helens prepared to do battle.

Now Catalans star has opened up on the incident jokingly comparing the bull to St Helens star Konrad Hurrell:

“I can’t remember exactly. I was passing and I turned around and I thought it was Konrad Hurrell coming on early and it was this thing prancing around and chasing.

“It was bizarre, only in France could that happen.

“I don’t think a lot of health and safety had been planned. We had a guy with a dog lead and a one and a half tonne bull running round.

“Luckily no one was hurt, a bit of hurt and a great bit of advertising.”

He also revealed what was said after the game:

“After the game Bernard came in and said ‘if you play like that every week there will be bulls every week.'”

Meanwhile Sky Sports’ Jon Wilkin was asking the big important questions:

“Why does the guy keep hold of the bull for so long? Does he think he can grind the bull to a stop or something? Let go.

“Even funnier was the fact the Catalans were wearing red.”
