Sam Lisone reveals which current and former Leeds Rhinos stars convinced him to join the club

One of Leeds Rhinos’ biggest signings of the new season is NRL prop Sam Lisone.

The big unit revealed that current Leeds Rhinos star David Fusitu’a was key to the decision to join the club: “We talk all the time, it wasn’t a hard decision when I spoke to David I was like ‘I’m coming here.’

“I’m staying with David, helping babysit. Should start a babysitting business.”

“We’ve known each other since I was 13 or 14.”

He also revealed that current St Helens star and former Rhino Konrad Hurrell is a friend whilst now Bradford Bulls man Bodene Thompson helped convince Lisone to join the club:

“Yeah Konrad Hurrell is a good friend. I didn’t really speak to him but I spoke to Fusitu’a and Bodene Thompson.”

He also explained what he will bring to the Rhinos:

“Couple hard runs, couple of hard hits, a standard front row and doing my best for the team. The only praise I need is from the team.

“Me and Rohan talked about finding that spark and hopefully we can do something special next year.

“I will keep playing footy until my knees blow out, and this club was interested and here I am.

“Finding that love for the game again, I have come here for a fresh opportunity and a new start with new teammates and give it a great crack.

“I don’t want to talk about what happened then, I am all Leeds and I want to rip in for my new teammates.”
