Sam Lisone makes bold statement about his Super League goals & reveals what he will bring to Leeds Rhinos

Leeds Rhinos have added a number of new signings ahead of 2023 and perhaps the highest profile of which is Sam Lisone from the NRL.

But what will Lisone bring to Headingley?

He explained all this week: “Couple hard runs, couple of hard hits, a standard front row and doing my best for the team. The only praise I need is from the team.

“Me and Rohan talked about finding that spark and hopefully we can do something special next year.

“I will keep playing footy until my knees blow out, and this club was interested and here I am.

“Finding that love for the game again, I have come here for a fresh opportunity and a new start with new teammates and give it a great crack.”

When asked if his goal is to win trophies, he had a brilliant response:

“That’s the goal, I am not coming over all this way, 36 hours, to just take part. If I was just coming to f**k around I would stay in Australia.”

As for coach Rohan Smith who has worked with Lisone in the past, he said of Leeds’ signing:

“Sam is all about the team, he has some skill and some footwork. He equally likes running into people. He is a useful and fit guy, he has gotten bigger as his body matured but when his motor gets going he gets really busy.”
