Sam Burgess is one of the best players Britain have produced in the last century.
Formerly of the Bradford Bulls, he made the move to South Sydney Rabbitohs and became a legendary figure in the NRL especially when they won the 2014 Grand Final on the back of his Man of the Match performance.
Now he is back at the Bunnies as Jason Demetriou’s assistant coach.
However, he revealed to Fox League that he is keen on being a Head Coach in the future:
“There’s a lot of work in it so there’s no rush. I’d like to be a head coach one day but only when the time is right and the right place.”
He also explained the role he will play at Souths:
“It’s totally different now on the other side of the fence really but I’m pretty intertwined with the players still, I’ve got great relationships with most of them.
“The majority of the work since I got back has been with the younger players, fringe players.
“This week has probably been the best week back with experience back, we get to do a bit more quality work, so it’s been really good.
“I’m enjoying where I’m at now, I’m enjoying what I’m bringing here and helping out with the staff here.”
Burgess has also reiterated his desire to become a head coach, though he does not want to be rushed into a decision.”
