Sam Burgess floors Aussie Rules star in brutal fight

Sam Burgess became a coach at South Sydney following retirement.

Sam Burgess was always known for his competitive edge as a rugby league player, but now it appears as though he has taken that into the latest episode of SAS Australia.

AFL veteran Heath Shaw took on Burgess, choosing the former NRL star for a fight designed to prove their ruthlessness on the battlefield.

But, it took Burgess merely a minute to land a few impressive punches and send Shaw – a former Collingwood Magpie player – to the ground.

“I’ve been in a couple of fights, I grew up in the north of England and went through a couple of tough schools there,” Burgess said.

“And then I played football which is fighting each week. There’s a certain element of aggression needed to try and get a result.”

Ant Middleton, however, was impressed with Shaw’s choice of opponent, declaring: “good f*cking choice” at picking the biggest competitor in the game.
