Phoebe Burgess may well have been divorced from ex-husband and former NRL and Super League star Sam in 2020, but she is still using his last name.
Now, though, she has revealed why.
“Why do you still use the surname Burgess after such a messy separation and all the negative things Sam supposedly put your family through?”
That was the question asked by one follower.
“I don’t usually answer these questions… but it’s simple; my two beautiful children,” Phoebe Burgess explained.
“We sacrifice a lot as mothers.”
The two had separated in December 2018, before getting back together in April 2019 and then splitting for good six months later, with Phoebe allegedly walking away with 70% of their marital wealth – which included Sam’s F45 gym franchise.
Phoebe is said to have walked away with 70 per cent of the couple’s marital wealth, including Sam’s F45 gym franchise, which she has since sold.
Sam, meanwhile, was recently cleared on appeal of intimidating his former father-in-law, Mitch Hooke and escaped conviction for driving with cocaine in his system.
