Sam Burgess confronted by police and threatened with arrest

Sam Burgess has been confronted by police and threatened with arrest after a visit to his ex-wife’s home didn’t go well.

The former South Sydney Rabbitohs and Bradford Bulls star had been trying to see his children for the first time since Christmas, with his car loaded up with presents for daughter Poppy and son Billy.

The current Orara Valley Axemen coach arrived at former spouse Phoebe Burgess’ front gate in Bowral at the weekend, but was refused entry according to theĀ Daily Mail.

Burgess was warned by officers that if he didn’t leave he would be arrested following a ten-minute encounter and the 33-year-old duly left the property without incident.

He had previously been accused of domestic violence and drug and alcohol abuse during the couple’s marriage and was then subjected to a year-long investigation, but was cleared by police.

Those allegations, however, had cost the Englishman his backroom staff job at the Rabbitohs.

Burgess was also able to overturn a conviction for intimidating Phoebe’s father Mitchell Hooke, though he did admit to using drugs and underwent a rehabilitation program.

Sam was then seen taking part on SAS Australia where he became the only contestant to win the final challenge and he has since been linked with an England coaching role alongside Shaun Wane.

There on a court ordered visit, she changes her mind and calls the police.
Remind me again why thousands of dads a year kill themselves.
