Salford v Leigh: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

It may be early days but the table is already beginning to shape up and two sides towards the bottom of the league without a win do battle today in a huge game for their season prospects. Salford – who only have three tries to their name so far this season – take on a Leigh side who have failed to replicate their opening night performance over Wigan.

Salford go into the game without some of their big hitters. Kallum Watkins and Elijah Taylor join Dan Sarginson, Danny Addy, Joe Burgess and Ryan Lannon in the treatment room whilst Andy Ackers is absent through suspension. The good news for Salford is that Krisnan Inu is again available and will likely fill the void left by Watkins at centre.

Like Salford, Leigh have their own absentees. Joe Mellor, Nathaniel Peteru and Adam Sidlow have dropped out of the squad joining Blake Wallace, Matty Wildie, Brendan Elliot and Junior Sa’u who are all absent through injury. Such are their injury problems, coach John Duffy has only named a 20-man squad. The good news is that Grand Final winner Anthony Gelling could make his debut at centre alongside St Helens loanee Josh Simm however there is a chance Iain Thornley could return to the side.
