Salford v Hull FC: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Salford have struggled in recent weeks losing to both bottom placed Leigh and table topping Catalans. After that, they’ll want to finish the season strongly and will hope to upset play-off chasing Hull FC. The Black and Whites meanwhile need to get back on the horse after defeat to Castleford last week.

The Red Devils will be without key halfback Kevin Brown as well as number nine Andy Ackers meaning Chris Atkin will move to hooker whilst Ata Hingano joins Tui Lolohea in the halves. Meanwhile, Morgan Escare will stick at fullback despite the fact Dan Sarginson has impressed there since joining the Red Devils. Instead, he’ll remain at centre keeping the likes of Joe Burgess out of the side.

As for Hull FC, the injury to Carlos Tuimavave will force Brett Hodgson into changes. Mahe Fonua will be promoted from the bench into the centres whilst Josh Bowden is drafted onto the bench. I suspect that Ben McNamara will remain at six despite being withdrawn against Castleford on Thursday night. However, it is possible that Jordan Johnstone could start at nine with Danny Houghton at stand-off.
