Salford v Castleford: 21-man squads, injury update and TV details

Salford and Castleford have both announced their 21-man squads for Friday night’s fifth round clash at the AJ Bell Stadium (KO 6:00pm).

The Red Devils picked up their first league win of the season last week with a convincing 34-8 victory over new-comers Leigh.

The Tigers had begun 2021 with a four-game winning run but were unable to extend that to five, losing 22-12 away to Wigan.

The game will be available to watch on Sky Sports Arena, with coverage starting from 7:30pm.

Salford Red Devils

The Red Devils welcome back Kallum Watkins and Danny Addy from respective hand and hip injuries, while Andy Ackers returns from suspension. They replace Dec Patton, Jack Wells and Matty Costello. There’s still no Elijah Taylor (shoulder), Dan Sarginson (rib), Joe Burgess (ankle) and Ryan Lannon.

Castleford Tigers

Tyla Hepi drops out of Daryl Powell’s squad as he serves the first game of his two-match suspension, while Daniel Smith and Jordan Turner also miss out. They are replaced by Jesse Sene-Lefao who returns from how own ban, Gareth O’Brien and Lewis Peachey. Sosaia Feki (achilles), Suaia Matagi (calf), James Clare (knee), Alex Foster (bicep) and Jacques O’Neill are all still out.
