Salford are set to complete the signing of highly-rated Featherstone hooker or scrum-half Connor Jones for 2020.

The 24-year-old joined the Rovers in July on a deal until the end of the season from Australian side Northern Pride.

Before that, he came through the academy system at Canterbury Bulldogs and also had a spell with Melbourne Storm feeder club Easts Tigers.

He has made an instant impact on the Featherstone side, scoring four tries in seven games so far and building a reputation as a solid defender.

His impressive form has caught the eye of several Super League and Championship clubs, however, Serious About RL has learned that he is set to sign a two-year deal with the Red Devils.

Ian Watson is looking to bolster his creative options, with Jackson Hastings leaving for Wigan and Josh Wood also rumoured to be on his way out.

Jones would become Salford’s fourth signing for 2020, joining Dan Sarginson, Chris Atkin and Pauli Pauli at the AJ Bell Stadium.
