Salford send three players to play in Valencia clash

Salford Red Devils will send three of the club’s young players to play in this weekend’s historic clash between Valencia Huracanes and Featherstone Rovers.

Connor Aspey and Luis Roberts, who both recently signed professional contracts and have previously played for the Devils’ first team in pre-season clashes, will represent the Spanish club, as will Sam Bardsley, who currently plays for amateur club Folly Lane.

“Playing for Valencia is a great development opportunity for the young lads,” said Salford head coach Ian Watson. “They’ll gain the experience of playing overseas and also be exposed to a Championship side who were only one game away from reaching Super League last year.

“Conor and Luis will then join us for our warm weather training camp, which will be another valuable experience for them.”
