Salford Red Devils welcome back two stars ahead of Huddersfield Giants clash

Salford host Huddersfield this afternoon at 1 o’clock in front of the Channel 4 cameras.

It’s  a must win game for the Red Devils as a defeat would see them three points behind sixth place Leeds in the race for the top six and the play off race.

Wins over Toulouse and St Helens – they even battered the Champions 44-12 at home – had put them in the top six before a defeat to the aforementioned Rhinos saw them slip behind the West Yorkshire club and as they take on former boss Ian Watson and his Huddersfield side they cannot afford giving up more ground in the playoff race but face a Giants side firmly inside the top three after a brilliant season under Watson.

Having lost Dan Sarginson and Sam Luckley last week, the Red Devils needed some bodies back and they’ve come in the shape of two key forwards in mid season signing Tyler Dupree and Harvey Livett.

Both were in the squad last week but weren’t fit enough to play with Dupree a late withdrawal after training all week ahead of the Leeds clash.

Dupree starts as does Ryan Brierley who replaces the injured Sarginson at fullback after starting on the bench last week.

Star second row starts for the first time in months and surprisingly at prop.
