Salford Red Devils vs Catalans Dragons squads confirmed with Sam Tomkins decision made

The head coaches of Salford Red Devils and Catalans Dragons have confirmed their 21-man squads in a huge, potentially play-off spot deciding match.

Just two points currently separate the sides in the race for the play-off places.

Salford Red Devils are in the better position, currently fifth in the league, but could be overtaken by any of Leigh Leopards, Catalans Dragons and Leeds Rhinos this weekend, with the sides all having better points difference.

The Dragons themselves are seventh, just outside of the play-off spots, one point behind Leigh.

The big question on everyone’s lips was whether Sam Tomkins would return to contention for this fixture.

Salford Red Devils squad news

Paul Rowley has made just one change to the 21-man squad from defeat to Hull KR last week.

Loghan Lewis is out through injury, with Gil Dudson taking his place in the squad – meaning he could face his former side.

Meanwhile, after returning from injury last week, Jack Ormondroyd is again included in the squad.

They’ll be looking to avoid a repeat from last time these sides met – where they were nilled in Perpignan.

Catalans Dragons squad news

The big news for the Dragons is the return of Sam Tomkins to the squad, shortly after being confirmed as England’s team manager for the upcoming series.

Also being added to the squad are Tariq Sims are Jarrod Wallace, in further major boosts for the Dragons.

Meanwhile, the three dropping out are Chris Satae, Yacine Ben Abdeslem and Ben Lam.

Satae was the only one of these three that featured in the defeat to Wigan Warriors last time out, coming off the bench.
