Salford Red Devils v Warrington Wolves team news amid bizarre loan situation and Sam Burgess injury boost

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley has been able to call on Cain Robb this week, with the hooker selected in his 21-man squad to face Warrington Wolves.

Robb, who joined on loan from Castleford Tigers last month saw his debut for the club against Hull FC cut short due to a head injury. As such, the expectation was that he would return to Castleford and fight for his spot at The Jungle when fit.

However, he has remained with Salford and he’ll feature for the Red Devils on Friday, which comes as a big boost for the club, who have seen Kobe Rugless return to Hunslet.

Joe Shorrocks is included too, after serving a one-match suspension last week. There’s no Jonny Vaughan, though, who injured his shoulder last time out against St Helens.

Warrington loanee Dan Russell is eligible to feature against his parent club, Paul Rowley has confirmed, but bizarrely Tom Whitehead is not, which ensures he will sit out of this week’s game.

Warrington are unchanged from their win over Hull FC last time out and that means both Toby King and Joe Philbin have been included.
The pair were left out of the matchday squad last week due to minor concerns, but they are fit enough to be named this time around.

Rodrick Tai is in the mix, too, after being withdrawn with a minor knock against the Black and Whites.
