Salford Red Devils tie down another key player to long term deal as former Leeds Rhinos man secures future

Salford Red Devils have signed another of their key players down to a long term deal.

It is often suggested that Salford struggle to keep a hold of their best players with the likes of Jackson Hastings’ move to Wigan Warriors and Luke Yates’ switch to Huddersfield Giants prime examples.

However, that doesn’t look like being the case in 2023.

After a stellar 2022, the Red Devils have added class to their squad such as Leigh Leopards star Sam Stone but more importantly, having reached the semi-finals in 2022, they have kept their star players.

Tim Lafai and Ryan Brierley have been tied down to long term deals and the club are reportedly hoping to do the same with star halfback Brodie Croft who has stirred up interest from NRL clubs.

Now the club has confirmed that Tyler Dupree will be staying at the club until the end of 2025.

The former Leeds Rhinos man starred at Oldham in 2021 prior to a move to Widnes Vikings and was soon picked up by Salford mid way through last season debuting in a win over his former club Leeds at the AJ Bell Stadium prior to playing a key role in helping Salford to the last four.

He is set to kick on in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils could make one more signing with a quota spot open after the departure of former Warrington Wolves prop Sitaleki Akauola to Toulouse.
