Salford Red Devils star leaves the club with immediate effect

Dan Sarginson has left the Salford Red Devils with immediate effect.

The news comes as a shock.

The club released the following statement:

“Salford Red Devils can confirm that Dan Sarginson has left the club with immediate effect.

“We would like to thank Dan for this time at the club and wish him the best for the future.”

The fullback / centre started his career at London Broncos before joining Wigan Warriors in 2014 and he;ping the club to three consecutive Grand Final appearances starting at fullback as the Warriors beat Warrington Wolves 12-6.

He then joined the Gold Coast Titans in 2017 making six appearances for the NRL side before returning to Wigan helping the Warriors to the Super League title in 2018.

Eventually he joined Salford Red Devils and went on to help the club back to Wembley.

However, he has spent his time at Salford looking to settle into a position with Niall Evalds and Ryan Brierley often occupying the fullback spot whilst the likes of Kallum Watkins, Deon Cross and Tim Lafai have inhabited the centre spots.

Injury also worked against him especially in recent times.

It is unclear what next for Sarginson after this news.

The Red Devils now have even more cap space open as well as having a quota spot.
