Salford Red Devils star Brodie Croft reportedly ‘offered’ to another club

If there is one signing that has taken Super League by storm in 2022 then it is Salford Red Devils’ Brodie Croft.

Having signed from the Brisbane Broncos under minimal fanfare, the halfback has lit up Super League with his electric pace, damaging running style and his effective partnership with Marc Sneyd.

It’s fair to say that Croft left the NRL because of the pressure of performing at a Brisbane club where many felt he was the scapegoat for a number of bad losses.

In moving to Super League, Croft has not only distanced himself from those claims, he has thrown them out completely.

Some incredible games at the heart of the Red Devils attack has left clubs looking interestingly at the Melbourne Storm product.

In fact, according to two panelists on the NRL360 show, the halfback is being ‘looked’ at by NRL sides.

One of those sides is the Newcastle Knights who have struggled greatly this season with consistency in the halves with the likes of Adam Clune and Jake Clifford failing to impress and Wests Tigers playmaker Luke Brooks continuing to be linked.

However, whilst one NRL360 panellist Paul Kent believes Croft is in the Knights’ sights, Brent Read disagrees.

“I think they are also having a sneaky look at Brodie Croft,” Paul Kent said on NRL360.

“I think they have been offered Brodie Croft and he wants to come back, but I don’t know if they want him,” Brent Read added.

If Croft does exit the AJ Bell Stadium, it will be one of the most disappointing future turns for the Red Devils, whose head coach Paul Rowley has prided himself on working with the halfback to great effect.
