With the 2023 season fast approaching and of course Christmas around the corner, lots of sides are releasing their kits for the upcoming season.
Salford Red Devils are the latest Super League side to do so and have launched their home and away shirts (images at bottom of article).
The tweet is simply captioned: “Our Club. Our History. Our Kit.”
In the video attached to the tweet fans and players alike can be seen donning the new shirts and the Devils make particular reference to Lance Todd Close.
Lance Todd of course is the legendary player and coach whom the Challenge Cup man of the match trophy is named after.
He coached Salford to three League titles and one Challenge Cup victory leading them during one of the most successful spells in club history.

As such the side are returning to those simplistic colours of a red jersey with a white chevron across the front.
The away shirt is simply white with black and red trim and looks very sleek.
Former player Jackson Hastings was amongst the first to respond and he clearly likes what he sees.

This appeal to the history and the identity of the club is sure to strike well with fans who will be hoping for a successful season under the leadership of Paul Rowley.
As part of this nod to the side’s history all past and present players will have their name written into the design to form a subtle pattern that celebrates the clubs 150th year.
The Red Devils will be hoping this return to an iconic design will bring good fortunes in 2023.
