Salford Red Devils legend Michael Coulman passes away

Salford Red Devils have been forced to announce some very sad news this morning.
Former player Michael Coulman has passed away at the age of 78.
Coulman was a brilliant forward capable of playing in the front and back row.
He started his career in rugby union and even represented England and the British and Irish Lions in the 1960s.
At the end of the 60s he joined Salford where he made nearly 500 appearances in 15 years and scored 135 tries.
He played for both Great Britain and England as well as Lancashire and would even coach the club in the 1983-84 campaign.
He played in both the Lancashire Cup Final in 1974 and the BBC2 Floodlit Trophy Final in 1975.
Salford made the following tribute to him:
“Everyone at the Club were saddened to hear about the passing of Salford Red Devils legend, Mike Coulman.
“The England international made 463 appearances, scoring 405 points and won two Rugby League Championships.
“All our thoughts are with his family at such a sad time.”
