Salford Red Devils inflict incredible 70-point thrashing over Wakefield Trinity

There were three games that took place this Sunday afternoon with Hull KR and Huddersfield Giants doing battle live on Sky Sports.

Elsewhere, Castleford Tigers hosted Catalans Dragons, but one of the games that perhaps went under the radar was a massive game at the bottom of the Super League table.

Salford Red Devils took on Wakefield Trinity with both sides locked on ten points – six points above Toulouse Olympique who, as it stands, would be relegated after just one season in the top flight.

With many people predicting a close encounter at the AJ Bell Stadium, Salford dismantled those predictions with an incredible thrashing over Wakefield.

72-10 the game ended with Trinity appearing shellshocked throughout, despite running into a 6-0 lead.

Such a score not good for the game but credit to a Salford side with limited means. They have made excellent signing over the years on a small budget. Many of their signings have been then poached by the bigger clubs.

No I don’t like one sided games either but because of relegation I was willing SRD on to as big a score as possible…. P&R makes hypocrites of us all.
