Salford Red Devils hooker and ex-Wigan Warriors star Amir Bourouh leaves for new club on loan

Salford Red Devils have loaned out their hooker Amir Bourouh.

With Andy Ackers excelling at number nine, Salford head coach Paul Rowley has took it upon himself to send Bourouh out to get much-needed match fitness.

That has left the former Wigan Warriors academy product heading to London Broncos on an initial two-week loan.

London tweeted: “London Broncos have secured @SalfordDevils. Hooker Amir Bourouh on a 2-week loan deal and the player will be included in the 21 man squad for this weekends game with York City Knights.”

Bourouh initially signed from Wigan, despite the interest of other clubs.

“I believe there were talks with a few other clubs. However when speaking with Iestyn Harris (my agent) about the opportunity to join Salford I was really interested,” Bourouh told Serious About Rugby League.

“And then speaking with Ian Blease about the pathway opportunities I could have to play Super League sold it for me.”

Bourouh is already praising new boss Paul Rowley for the way that he has handled being in the top job at the Red Devils after being appointed in place of Richard Marshall.

“I feel like I’m learning a lot from him already as he knows what it takes to play hooker at a top level.

“He’s honest and demands the best from me which is what will help me get to that next level.”
