Salford Red Devils could move for Super League star after shock development

There has been some major twists and turns in the transfer market that have had an impact on Salford Red Devils’ options.

The Red Devils have been in the market for a prop ahead of the new season hoping to add some depth to their pack ahead of the new season.

After the departure of Ken Sio, the club have a quota spot open that they can use to sign a prop resulting in many expecting them to make a play for Leigh Leopards star Ben Nakubuwai who was reportedly set to leave to allow the club to sign Tristan Sailor but this move has collapsed meaning Nakubuwai is likely to stay at Leigh.

This could prompt Salford to pursue Warrington Wolves star Sam Kasiano after he was reportedly released according to Rugby League Live.

Either way the club at the heart of this have been the Leigh Leopards who are gearing up for the new season with owner Derek Beaumont clearly excited as he said on the club’s website:

“There are many highlights and mouth watering ties none less than three against our neighbours Wigan, Saints and Salford but no doubt the one many are looking towards is the trip to Catalans and I am pleased to see we get that in June when we can make the most of the trip and the nice weather.

“It’s perhaps ironic that it’s again the team we face the week after the Challenge Cup final all be it away this time. We will obviously be focussing on trying to defend the Trophy and keep it at the club as a main part of our season, but everything doesn’t hinge on that.

“We have added to our squad and strengthened it in areas at the same time, but we are well aware that others have as well. Our goals this year are simply to be the best version of ourselves that we can be individually and collectively, and I know that if we do that then we will do the town proud and play a significant part in all three trophies.

“Its been inspiring to see the significant increase in memberships as this is what it’s all about. It’s important this year that we really work hard to get our crowds up and this is something that everyone can play a part in.”
