Salford Red Devils confirm 6 player exits including Hull FC signing

Salford Red Devils have confirmed the six players who will depart the club at the end of the season ahead of the team’s final home game of the season.

There is still a chance that Salford could yet play a home play-off game with how tight the fight for the top six is, however, they’re not yet assured of a play-off berth anyway.

A massive game in determining if they will make the top six occurs today with Salford Red Devils hosting play-off rivals Catalans Dragons in a game that will be televised on BBC Two.

After wins for Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos last night, Salford and Catalans have both slipped out of the top six into seventh and eighth respectively, albeit the Red Devils are level on points with both Leigh and Leeds.

That means that a win today would propel them into at least fifth, potentially fourth if St Helens do not win against Warrington, with the day set to be an emotional one.

That’s because in all likelihood, it will be the final home game as a Salford Red Devils player for six of the squad after confirmation of who will exit.

Who will leave Salford Red Devils at the end of the season?

Salford Red Devils confirmed in a statement that in addition to confirmed transfer departures Oliver Partington (Catalans Dragons) and Amir Bourouh (Hull FC), Cade Cust, Andrew Dixon, Adam Sidlow and Gil Dudson will all also leave.

Dudson had joined the club on loan for the remainder of the season from Warrington but the Welsh international is off contract at the Halliwell Jones Stadium as well meaning his future is up in the air.

Recently, the club’s quota situation for 2025 was also clarified and confirmation that overseas player Cade Cust has now added more clarity to that. Salford’s Managing Director Paul King paid tribute to the six players set for the exit door.

King said: “It’s the sad part of professional sport – saying goodbye to faces that have become part of the day-to-day of being around the Club.

“Whether they’ve spent months or years representing our City, I’ve no doubt that the supporters will show their appreciation for all the players’ efforts tomorrow.

“Amir, Ollie, Cade, Dicko, Adam and Gil each leave with our sincere thanks, and best wishes in their next steps”.

It was also confirmed that Salford Red Devils will allow fans to show their appreciation for the six departing players at today’s game.
