Salford Red Devils went down 20-0 to the Wigan Warriors tonight at the DW Stadium.
It wasn’t a pretty game, with just one try in the second-half, but Salford head coach Paul Rowley believes his side didn’t do themselves justice with the amount of errors they conceded.
“15 errors we made tonight,” Rowley told Premier Sports after the game.
“If you don’t respect possession you won’t come to Wigan and get a victory.
“It wasn’t a good game to be honest, neither side were good in attack but we got rolled down the middle from start to finish.
“We gifted them a lot of territory and errors.”
Rowley continued: “The stats told a story and the lads know where they need to learn.
“That’s discipline, it’s easy to say it but they’ve got to perform and be more disciplined with the ball.
“We wont waver in our enthusiasm and belief, but we were the masters of our downfall tonight.”
Rowley also commented on James Greenwood’s potentially serious injury after he was forced to leave the field following a Tommy Leuluai tackle.
“He’s gone for an X-ray and scans.
“Put it this way, he won’t be bouncing about any time this week – it will be a case of how long not whether he is good or not.”
