Salford Red Devils have become the final Super League club to release their squad numbers ahead of the upcoming campaign. It’s been an uncertain off-season to say the least for the Red Devils, but ahead of their first senior outing of the year at St Helens, they have released their 2025 shirt numbers.
The club have made a number of changes to their top 13, too, with Jayden Nikorima, who joined the club last season after leaving Catalans Dragons, taking up the number six jersey. Joe Mellor moves to nine, while new signing Chris Hill will wear the number 10 in his first season with the club.
Joe Shorrocks has been handed 13, while Esan Marsters will take on 17 after his switch from Huddersfield Giants. Justin Sangare has 19, Joe Bullock takes 20 and Sam Davis, who looks set to share the hooker role with Mellor will wear 21.
The announcement comes as Salford continue their preparations for the new Super League season, which gets underway for the Red Devils on February 15 at the Totally Wicked Stadium. Salford will warm up for that fixture this afternoon as they travel to face Paul Wellens’ St Helens for Morgan Knowles’ testimonial.
Of course, there is still so much to be cleared up at Salford due to the financial difficulties the club have encountered. There is hope that a takeover can be completed but after being directed to sell players by the RFL in order to cut their outgoings, the club may be forced to part with some of their most high profile players if no progress can be made.
