Salford Red Devils have conducted an internal investigation into one of their players – believed to be Krisnan Inu – following comments on Jarryd Hayne’s rape sentence.
Hayne was sentenced to a maximum of five years and nine months in jail after being found of guilty of raping a woman back in 2018.
However, Hayne was supported by a conglomerate of fans outside the courthouse – which soon turned ugly – as well as on social media.
This, in turn, led to Tony Williams’ contract with New York Rugby League side terminated following his outspoken views on Instagram.
Now, it appears Salford may follow suit after launching an internal investigation of their own.
Salford Red Devils are aware of the social media activity of one of our players over the last 24 hours.
An internal investigation is underway and there will be no further comment from the Club at this time.
