Saints Women to do charity cut

On the ninth of February, nine of the St Helens Women’s Super League team will cut off between seven to 16 inches of their hair, for the Little Princess Trust.

Club captain Emily Rudge has organised the cut and includes Dannielle Bush, Zoe Harris, Rebecca Avenall, Darcy Stott, Dawn Ackrigg, Pip Birchall, Sarah Lovejoy and Nessa Hadley.

The Team’s just giving page reads: “Just before the start of the new 2020 season, nine of the players from St Helens Women’s Rugby League team are getting between 7” and 16” cut off of their hair which they are then donating to the Little Princess Trust.

“The rest of the players in the team will all also be supporting the cause by donating what they can to the charity.

“When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, The Little Princess Trust provides the child with a real hair wig (free of charge) to help restore their confidence and identity.

“The charity relies solely on the donations of volunteers to produce the wigs and to fund the making of them. They also do research in to fighting cancer and other diseases which lead to hair loss.”

Rudge has asked for any donations large or small.

“It will help support the charity in their research and production of wigs for all the children who need them!”
