Lachlan Coote has been a vital cog in the St Helens wheel since joining ahead of the 2019 season, but his future is currently up in the air.
The Australian fullback’s contract runs out at the end of 2021 and, despite telling League Express that Saints have been brilliant with him, it’s all about his family’s happiness at the end of the day.
”My wife has had a tough time, sitting at home with the kids and doing nothing eventually takes its toll,” Coote told the League Express.
”It’s easy for me to go training every day and the footy side has been awesome, but I must admit it would be very hard to walk away.
”The club has been great with me and my family and are not putting any pressure on us to make a decision now.”
Coote has made almost 50 appearances for St Helens in two Grand Final-winning seasons, scoring over 500 points in the process.
