Saints players looking forward to ‘home advantage’

St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf has said his players are looking forward to playing at the Totally Wicked Stadium again this week.

The last two rounds of Super League matches have been played at Emerald Headingley, and will move to St Helens, with four fixtures taking place over the weekend.

Although Woolf was not sure if it would help them in anyway.

He said: “I don’t know if it helps. You have to win on the road, in the same way as you have to win at home. I don’t think it necessarily helps in anyway.

“We’ve usually got a crowd that really gets behind you, and our fans are fantastic in terms of how they do that. Obviously that is not there at the moment.

“What I do know, is that our players love playing at home. With or without the crowd, it’s a great stadium, it’s a great feel and it’s one of the bigger pitches to play on.

“Our players see it as home. And it’s great that we don’t have to get on a bus and travel somewhere too. We’ll enjoy the fact we can play at home this week.”
