Saints odds on to go 4 from 4

Thursday night Rugby comes from the AJ Bell Stadium tonight where St Helens are the visitors .

Super League sponsors Betfred make Saints a very short 4/11 to win the game on a ground where they have come unstuck in the past . This is a real potential banana skin for Saints as the Red Devils have won 3 of their 4 games so far this season , but most notably lost heavily to Leeds in their last home game .

Despite being unbeaten we are yet to see the best of Justin Holbrook’s side , they struggled to beat Leeds last week and needed a last second try to win at Wakefield in round 2 . Salford though have only beaten sides expected to finish in the lower half of the table and this is a definite step up . I’m sure the home side will be tempted by the odds of around 12/5 but I think Saints can get home here and cover the 8 point handicap . Saints were much improved 2nd half against Leeds , keeping the Rhinos scoreless , and a repeat of that will surely be too much for Salford .

An away win by around 11-15 points is where I see this one , 10/11 with Betfred for Saints on the half time full time is probably where the value lies in what could be an entertaining encounter .

Ken Sio at 14/1 and Jonny Lomax at 16/1 would be my 1st try picks but the value bet of the game looks like the 11/2 with Betfair for Scarsbrook to score anytime in the 80 minutes  .

Finally the man of the match , Roby is an obvious favourite at 9/2 20/1 is too big for Luke Thomson , so it would be Thomson and Jackson Hastings , at 10/1 , for me . If the Red Devils are to win they’ll need Hastings to play well .

We’ll have a look at Leeds v Wakefield tomorrow as always please gamble responsibly .
