Castleford Tigers head coach Ryan Carr gave a very brief and blunt post-match interview to Sky Sports, with his disappointment evident after his side’s loss to Warrington Wolves.
The Tigers would ship four tries in each half as they went down 48-18, despite leading 16-6 at one point early in the first half.
It echoed their derby defeat the week prior against Wakefield Trinity, in which they led 10-6 and had a man advantage at the 25-minute mark, only to lose 52-14.
As such, the Tigers have now shipped 100 points across the last two weeks and offering his blunt and quickfire response post-match to Sky Sports, Carr simply said: “Same old, same old.”
When asked what he put that result down to, Carr offered even less of an answer, responding: “Some individuals.”
With just six games of the season to go, Carr was asked if the focus now has to be on players representing themselves and the badge with pride, to which he agreed as he suggested that he wouldn’t accept any excuse or ‘cop-out’.
Carr explained: “There’s people in different positions but that doesn’t really worry me, because at the end of the day we’re paid to do a service, all of us, and that service we’ve provided tonight wasn’t good enough.
“It shouldn’t matter about where you are or where you’re going, that’s just a cop-out and I’m not copping it.”
With Hull KR on the road next up, the Tigers will need a huge improvement and when asked about that, a dismayed Carr simply responded: “Yeah, definitely.”
His total interview would last just under a minute, the majority of which was interview Kyle Amor asking questions, with the Castleford Tigers boss speaking a total of just 74 words with his frustration clear for all to see.
