Last year, Salford Red Devils were the entertainers in Super League and got all the way to the semi-finals and weren’t far off playing in the Grand Final.

Speaking recently, a key player in this attack Ryan Brierley spoke about this style of play and how it could be one of the most attractive in Super League.

“I think if I was a fan, I’d want to support a team that does throw the ball around like us,” told The Sportsman.

“What I will say is, there’s a lot of hard work that goes into it, it’s certainly not off the cuff.

“There’s a lot of people in the process that have to be in the right position and right place, and if that person isn’t in the right place, it doesn’t look great – looks a bit ugly to be honest.”

He elaborated saying that it was a part of success playing nice rugby:

“I think when you determine success, getting to a Grand Final, I think that’s success to me as well, making sure you play a great brand of rugby that people want to come and watch. I think that is an element of success.

“I think there is a conscious effort that we want to express ourselves but there’s no pressure with it. I think if there is any kind of pressure we kind of enjoy that, that tag of being that team who people want to come and watch.”
