Rumoured Super League target makes big decision on his future

We have seen plenty of big transfer stories recently with announcements from Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Hull KR both about incomings and outcomings for this year and next.

Hull KR, who earlier this year did some fantastic business signing the likes of Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart and former Castleford Tigers target AJ Wallace from the Bradford Bulls, have also made a move for the rest of the year.

They signed Brad Schneider for the rest of the season from NRL club Canberra Raiders hoping the halfback can ease their injury crisis.

The Robins have been masters at recruitment lately and rumours have swirled that they had set their sights on a Newcastle Knights forward.

This coming after Warrington had signed Newcastle’s Lachlan Fitzgibbon with the backrower saying of the move: “It’s been in my vision for the last couple of years to make the move over to Super League.

“They play a really good brand of rugby league in the UK which I feel will suit my game. At 29 I want to come over while I still have my best years in front of me.

“The history of the club and how important the club is to the town and the people of Warrington really resonated with me. I’m from a town over here in Newcastle and it’s full of passionate people who love their footy.

“Michael Monaghan is one of our Assistant Coaches at the Knights and spoke very highly about the club. I know Kurt Gidley too who’s a Newcastle legend. Kurt spoke so positively about the club and town. Hearing how much he enjoyed his time over there really made me feel comfortable about the decision and the move to England.

“I’m looking forward to getting over there and meeting the Warrington fans.”

So with one backrow leaving the Knights would they be willing to lose Tyson Frizzell, a man Hull KR have been linked with frequently owing to his relationship with Willie Peters?

Well the answer would appear to be no with the Knights closing in on a new deal for the backrower according to Zerotackle.
