Watch as rugby league stars hilariously recreate viral Coldplay moment in celebration of the season contender

Rugby league fans were treated to the try celebration of the year on Saturday morning as two NRLW players re-enacted the Coldplay video doing the rounds.

The video has gone viral on social media over the last few days with a couple reacting as though they were having an affair after being caught on camera during a Coldplay show. The pair can be seen lovingly wrapped up in each other’s arms as they watched Chris Martin and co perform in Boston before realising they were on the big screen.

The couple immediately hide from view, prompting a joke from Martin about them having an affair and that video has gone worldwide with social media awash with jokes and memes about them and the situation.

However, the moment made it onto the NRLW pitch on Saturday morning with North Queensland Cowboys pair Makenzie Weale and Tallisha Harden acting out the video after a try.

The Cowboys were taking on Cronulla Sharks at Sharks Stadium and they managed to overcome the odds as they claimed a 16-14 win to move up to sixth in the league ladder. It was a big win for the Queensland outfit, but the moment of the game came with around eight minutes remaining of the first half when Weale touched down after powering through the challenge of two Sharks players.

Weale was initially mobbed by her teammates before getting up and acting out the video with Harden in the in-goal area.

You can see that video in the embedded tweet below.

Brisbane Broncos currently lead the way in the NRLW after winning both of their opening games convincingly, with Sydney Roosters and England international Paige Travis’ Parramatta Eels among those level on points with them at the time of writing.
