Pundit and former England international Danika Priim is set to appear in court next month after being charged with sexual assault.
Priim is alleged to have ‘intentionally touched a woman aged 16 or over’, when ‘she did not consent’. The incident is alleged to have taken place at Horsforth Cricket Club in West Yorkshire in July 2022.
The ex-Leeds Rhinos and Bradford Bulls forward appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court last week but no pleas were entered, with a date at Leeds Crown Court now booked in for March 13.
Priim hung her boots up as a player in 2021, calling time on a career that saw her become one of the leading figures in the women’s game. Since then she has worked as a pundit, with work coming for the likes of the BBC, Sky Sports and Channel 4.
Late last year the 40-year-old was elected to become a vice president at the RFL, working alongside new president Adam Hills, who took over the position from Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
She officially took up the position earlier this month when she received her chains of office alongside Hills at RFL headquarters in Manchester.
Danika Priim started her career in the 13-player code with Stanningley and it was during her time with the Leeds-based club that she received her first England cap. She went on to join Bradford Bulls in 2017 before signing with Leeds Rhinos ahead of the 2018 season.
She spent four years at Headingley, with Challenge Cup and Grand Final successes coming before her retirement in the aftermath of the club’s loss to St Helens in the 2021 Grand Final.

Isn’t that strange in the last few days several self proclaimed RFL administrators, owners (e.g. gobbo) & pundits (i.e. experts) have been saying it can take weeks nay months for a RFL club to get the OK from the RFL for new owners especially for any foreign investors; yet today Salford have been given the OK.
Oh dear did they bribe the RFL or did someone in the RFL get a good kick up the rse and was told to get a move on ?
