York Valkyrie re-sign pair of England internationals ahead of first season under Leon Pryce

York Valkyrie have bolstered their chances of regaining the Super League crown by re-signing two England internationals to new deals.

The Valkyrie won the title in 2023 and 2024, becoming the first side in Women’s Super League history to go back to back, but they relinquished their crown in 2025 as York lost to St Helens in the semi-finals.

It’s since been an off-season of change with Lindsay Anfield leaving the club and taking on a role with Catalans Dragons, with former Bradford Bulls, St Helens and Hull FC man Leon Pryce replacing Anfield at the LNER Stadium.

Whilst plenty has changed in terms of coaching, the squad has largely remained the same with stars such as Sinead Peach and Izzy Brennan signing new deals, and now a further two have committed their future.

The Valkyrie have confirmed that Tamzin Renouf and Eboni Partington have both signed new deals with Renouf tied down until 2027, and Partington until the end of the upcoming 2026 season.

York Valkyrie retain stars ahead of 2026

Centre Renouf, who spent much of 2025 in the halves, has signed a new two-year deal for the club that she joined back in 2021.

“I’m proud to re-sign with this club for my sixth year,” Renouf said, adding: “I’m committed to working harder than ever, ready for whatever this season has in store, and focused on being the best player and teammate I can be.”

As for Partington, who was named as the Valkyrie’s Back of the Year in 2025, she’s penned a one-year deal on the back of an impressive second season.

Partington signed ahead of 2024 when she scoring a whopping 20 in 24 games, which she followed up with 11 in 19 last year.

On her new deal, the winger said: “I’m excited to re-sign for the Valks! I’m grateful to continue this journey and so ready to see what we can build together this year.”

York Valkyrie will be among the pack chasing down Wigan Warriors, who completed the treble in 2025 and also won the mid-season Nines competition.
