The fixtures for the 2026 Betfred Women’s Super League have been confirmed with champions Wigan Warriors set a tough test on opening day.
Denis Betts’ side won the lot in 2025, winning the treble but also winning the mid-season Nines competition with Wigan losing just one game all season.
That came at the hands of York Valkyrie who start a new era in 2026 following the exit of head Lindsay Anfield, who has been replaced by Leon Pryce.
Pryce’s first game in Super League will come on 16th May as the Valkyrie take on Huddersfield Giants in a double-header with the men’s teams.
As for Wigan, it’s Leeds Rhinos who they host first up with the other two opening round fixtures seeing Leigh Leopards host newly-promoted Featherstone Rovers, whilst St Helens make the trip to Barrow Raiders on the Sunday.
That opening round of games will be played on May 16th and 17th, kickstarting the league season which will comprise one game against every side, either home or away against, before the comp splits into a top and bottom four for an extended play-off series where teams play home and away for an additional six games.
At that point, the League Leaders Shield winner is crowned and automatically progress to the Grand Final, whilst second and third play a semi-final to determine who meets the League Leaders.
At the other end of the table, the side who place eighth will take on the Northern Championship Grand Final winners for a place in the 2027 Super League.

2026 Women’s Super League fixtures locked in
All fixtures are listed below with Round Seven, the final round before the competition splits into a top and bottom four coming on the weekend of July 11th and 12th.
At that stage, six more rounds will be played with teams in each half of the league playing their respective sides home and away. The semi-final and Grand Final will then conclude the season with both of those games being televised by Sky Sports, as well as three other regular season games.
The Grand Final will be played on Sunday, 27th September, one week before the men’s Grand Final, and will take place at the home of the League Leaders.
Standout games across the season include York v Wigan in Round Five with the Valkyrie the only side to beat the Warriors last year, whilst the derby between Wigan and St Helens takes place the week after in Round Six.
