Hull KR will be without key forward Dean Hadley for next Saturday’s Magic Weekend derby against neighbours Hull FC.
Hadley clashed heads with teammate Tom Amone inside the opening six minutes of Friday’s 34-8 loss at Leeds Rhinos.
Both players went off for a head injury assessment and though Amone was able to return, with his face bandaged, Hadley played no further part.
The failed assessment automatically rules Hadley out of the Robins’ next game.
And having suffered a similar setback during the Challenge Cup final defeat to Wigan Warriors a month ago, he could be facing a longer layoff.
“It is category one,” Peters told his post-match press conference.
“He is okay, he is saying he is fine. Tom came on with a cut over his eye, I am proud he fought on and I need to wait and see on Dean.
“He was saying he wanted to go back on and he felt okay. I need to have a look at it; they were both busted, but he felt he just needed a bit of time because he was split.
“At the end of the day a decision was made and we have to make sure Dean’s okay. But speaking to him after the game, he is in a good space which is the main thing.
“We need to make sure he is okay for the next 24-48 hours, the same with Tom. That’s the priority.”

Of the longer-term implications, Peter said: “That’s something the medical staff need to look at.
“That is out of my hands, the main thing is Dean’s welfare and how he is. We’ll go through the process we need to and I am sure the doctors will talk to the relevant people.”
The team boss admitted losing Hadley was a huge blow. “Dean plays the full game,” he added. “I am so glad he is in the England squad, because he deserves to be.
“What he does for us is phenomenal. Whenever he doesn’t play or comes off, something gives – whether it’s interchange, or kick-pressure. Just that little extra effort, he is always leading that. He is a superstar in my eyes.”
The Robins went into the game without four first-choice players on Friday and providing an update, Peters said: “Jez Litten will be back next week and Jesse Sue as well. I am not sure about Joe Burgess yet and Sam Luckley is possibly another week.”
