Hull KR boss Willie Peters has had his say on the ongoing situation at Salford Red Devils, stating that is has gone on for far too long and admitting that it “should have been handled before a ball was kicked.”
Peters’ Rovers face the Red Devils on Thursday night, and during his pre-match press conference was asked for his thoughts on the current ongoings at the club.
Salford have had a torrid season. Broken promises from new owners and investors, being forced to sell key players for money and having to rely on loans and youngsters has took it’s toll on everyone involved.
The 46-year-old sympathised with the players, and said he is not in a position to give any real opinion.
“[It’s] None of my business to be honest, he said on Monday. “If you want my honest opinion, it should have been handled at the start of the year. It should have been handled well before a ball was kicked.”
He added: “I feel for the players and I feel for the staff but it’s none of my business to give an opinion around that. It should have been handled and it should have been sorted way before a ball was kicked off.

The Challenge Cup winning coach praised the on-field efforts of the Red Devils players and head coach Paul Rowley. He knows his side will still have to be at their best despite them being bottom of the league.
“The thing about Salford, when they did have their players playing, they were unpredictable and they’re still unpredictable. That goes into whoever’s going to be on the field because Rowls is probably trying to work that out as well.
“He doesn’t know what players he’s going to have,” he said. “He’s been doing a great job, which he’s done all year through a challenging period, to get that team competing every week. They’ll compete again this week. We’ve just got to make sure that we perform at our best. We’ve got no excuse after a week off.”
Hull KR confirmed their squad at midday at Tuesday with hooker Jez Litten returning to the fray after missing the win against Catalans Dragons due to a HIA.

Peters and others know nothing about the affairs of the owners of Salford and him and others should keep their uninformed and disrespectful comments to themselves.
