Liam Marshall returns for Wigan Warriors this afternoon as the Cherry and Whites take on Hull FC at the Brick Community Stadium. Matt Peet’s side returned to winning ways last time out against Huddersfield Giants and they’ll be keen to build on that against a depleted Hull side.
Marshall was a key absentee in that game against Huddersfield through injury but he returns to the side this week and he’ll play on the opposite wing to Christian Wade, who keeps his spot in the side.
Wade scored on his rugby league debut last week and looking at the order of the Wigan line-up, it seems he could have Jake Wardle on his inside shoulder, with Peet favouring that experience alongside the 13-man code novice.
The rest of the Wigan starting line-up remains unchanged with the only bench change being Harvie Hill replacing Harvey Makin.
Hull boss John Cartwright has been unable to select Ed Chamberlain and former Wigan man Amir Bourouh this week due to concussion protocols, following their head knocks last week. As such, Cade Cust moves from his usual stand off role to hooker, while Brad Fash is the man selected to start in the back-row.
Jack Charles steps into the side to play in the halves alongside Aidan Sezer. Tom Briscoe and Jack Ashworth are the two most experienced players on the bench for Hull and they’re named alongside Matty Laidlaw and Will Hutchinson, who looks set to make his first senior appearance since March.
