Wigan Warriors have lost more IMG points in the performance pillar than any other club after failing to defend any of their silverware won in 2024.
Matt Peet’s side do still hold the World Club Challenge, although they didn’t actually contest it in 2025 due to the fact they made the trip to Las Vegas.
Moreover, that trophy looks set to leave their grasp early next year with new Super League champions Hull KR and the NRL champs Brisbane Broncos keen to play for it.
Like Wigan in 2025, Hull KR will be heading to Vegas in 2026 but the two clubs and respective governing bodies are looking for a solution to ensure the game is played.
It’s the domestic trophies that have hurt Wigan in 2025 though with their IMG performance score set to drop by a whole point, the most of any of the 35 professional clubs.
Full IMG scores will be confirmed on Thursday at 10:00 am.

Wigan Warriors lose one whole point on IMG performance score
IMG grades are comprised of five pillars totalling a maximum of 20 points with the performance pillar worth a max of five, something Wigan incredibly achieved last year.
They earned four of those five points by being the best-performing team over the past three years in terms of league position, having ranked third in 2022 before winning the League Leaders’ Shield in 2023 and 2024.
It’s worth noting that they still retain the top spot on average performance over three years, effectively swapping out 2022’s third-place rank (placed second but lost in the semi-finals) for 2025’s second-place finish.
What they have missed out on are the silverware bonuses with the Challenge Cup worth 0.25 points and the Grand Final worth 0.75, both of which went to Hull KR meaning the Robins gained the full point that Wigan lost.
As such, Wigan have recorded the largest drop in terms of their performance score, losing a whole point, but two other Super League clubs also feature in the top six for points lost on that metric.
Salford are one of them having placed twelfth in Super League and they sacrifice a fourth-placed rank from 2022, a year where they made the play-off semi-finals.
That’s seen them lose 0.3429 points, the fifth-largest drop, whilst Wakefield sit sixth having lost 0.2358 despite climbing up the performance rankings. Where Wakefield miss out, like Wigan, is the performance bonuses with their 2024 Championship-winning bonus of 0.25 removed from their score.
Others who are among the top losers on performance are Newcastle Thunder, who placed bottom of League One, Whitehaven, and Keighley Cougars.
Clubs to lose the most points on IMG performance pillar from 2024 to 2025
1. Wigan Warriors – 5 to 4
2. Newcastle Thunder – 0.9143 to 0.2286
3. Whitehaven – 1.4857 to 1.0283
4. Keighley Cougars – 1.0286 to 0.6854
5. Salford Red Devils – 3.5429 to 3.2
