Wigan Warriors’ man Liam Marshall has made a plea ahead of Sunday’s testimonial, whilst the club have also confirmed their charity shirt partner for 2026.
Announced at the club’s season launch, the Warriors will partner with Derian House in 2026 as their official charity partner, having supported Wigan and Leigh Hospice in 2025.
That was a nod to Liam Marshall, whose mum sadly passed away but was supported by the hospice, with his testimonial year offering yet more support to them.
Ahead of Sunday’s testimonial game against Hull FC, Marshall sent a message from the club’s account: “Hi, just a quick message from me, Liam Marshall, to all you Wigan fans.
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your support so far with the testimonial. We’ve been blown away, me and the committee, with all the support and generous kind acts from you all.
“I hope to see as many of you as we can down on Sunday for the testimonial game against Hull (FC). Tickets are still available up until the day and can be bought on match day.
“If you can’t make it down on Sunday, we’ll have a lot of exciting events going on through the year in 2026 so keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
“Hopefully, we can see as many of you throughout the year and make it a successful year, also supporting Wigan and Leigh Hospice. Thank you very much again.”
Wigan Warriors launch 2026 charity shirt
That came following the club confirming their new charity partner as Derian House with a kit in collaboration with the charity available for pre-order, though it won’t be seen until February 6th.
Derian House are a children’s hospice based in the North West who provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 babies, looking after children and young people up until their 26th birthday.
Opened in 1993, their services cost £6 million a year with under 30% of that funding coming from the government, highlighting the importance of fundraising.
Wigan have partnered with them in 2026 and £5 from the sale of every shirt, dubbed Holly’s kit, will go to Derian House.
The club have told Holly’s story through their kit launch in a touching video. She sadly passed away aged 5 in 2022 having previously fought off cancer twice, with Derian House supporting her and her family.
Wigan’s 2026 charity kit will honour Holly and help raise vital funds for Derian House to ensure that other families and young children are supported. You can read more about the kit, the charity and Holly’s story here.
