The latest Super League disciplinary verdict has seen a total of 14 players charged with one man banned and Wigan Warriors’ Brad O’Neill referred for further investigation after being accused of spitting.
It was an action-packed Rivals Round and the disciplinary verdict has reflected that with charges stemming from all bar one Super League game, Friday’s clash between Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos.
That was a game in which Kallum Watkins was placed on report but nothing has come from it for the Leeds Rhinos man, however, other players have not been as lucky.
Joe Cator is the one player to be banned with the Toulouse forward copping a Grade D charge for head contact, worth 15 points because it resulted in injury for his opponent. That’s enough to see the Englishman banned for two games.
Leigh’s Joe Ofahengaue picks up a Grade C charge that took him close to a ban, however, he’s fine to play next week despite his head contact charge.
Grade B charges were handed to Elliot Minchella (head contact), Matt Davis (dangerous contact), Ethan Havard (head contact), Shane Wright (head contact) and Romain Navarrete (late contact on the passer) with all other charges only Grade A.
Wigan Warriors’ Brad O’Neill was accused of spitting with St Helens’ Jake Wingfield making a formal allegation. That incident has been referred for further investigation.
