Wigan Warriors v Leigh Leopards predicted line-ups with star man “50/50”

Wigan Warriors host Leigh Leopards in a repeat of the thrilling season opener and we’ve predicted how each side could line up.

Leigh Leopards edged that game 1-0 after golden point with the game breaking numerous Super League records and opening up the season in incredible fashion.

Wigan have jumped ahead of the Leopards in the league table since then but they’re both flying high with the Warriors knowing that a win would propel them to first, at least until Hull KR play.

A win for Leigh would see them leapfrog their neighbours and move into second place but they could be without a key man with Adrian Lam revealing David Armstrong to be “50/50” for the game.

Ticket sales have surpassed 17,000 meaning it’s set to be an intense atmosphere at the Brick Community Stadium and we’ve predicted how each side could line up.

How Wigan Warriors could line up against Leigh

Matt Peet confirmed that winger Abbas Miski has undergone surgery meaning he’ll miss the next two months and that sees the Lebanese international drop out of the frame.

Zach Eckersley has covered him at times this season and could be called upon again, particularly now that Adam Keighran it back in the centres. Jacob Douglas is another option that Wigan could consider.

It was also confirmed by Matt Peet that Patrick Mago is back and he was named to the 21-man squad but they might not risk him, especially given the strength of their pack with the likes of Liam Byrne, Sam Walters, Harvie Hill and Tyler Dupree all bidding to compete alongside standout prop Luke Thompson.

Predicted Wigan Warriors XIII: Jai Field; Zach Eckersley, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall; Bevan French, Harry Smith; Luke Thompson, Brad O’Neill, Liam Byrne; Junior Nsemba, Kaide Ellis

Interchanges: Kruise Leeming, Sam Walters, Tyler Dupree, Harvie Hill

They struggled with their pack against Warrington and the possible return of Alec Tuitavake would be a welcome one with the forward joining Trout, Matty Davis and Ben McNamara on the bench.

With Armstrong dubbed “50/50” and Bailey Hodgson praised plenty by Adrian Lam, we’ve gone with the former Castleford man at full-back.

Predicted Leigh Leopards XIII: Bailey Hodgson; Darnell McIntosh, Umyla Hanley, Tesi Niu, Josh Charnley; Gaz O’Brien, Lachlan Lam; Joe Ofahengaue, Edwin Ipape, Robbie Mulhern; Jack Hughes, Ethan O’Neill, Isaac Liu
